Recycling Guidelines
Proper recycling helps keep our community clean and reduces waste going into the landfill. Here’s a simple guide to what can and cannot be placed in your recycling cart, along with pickup details.
What Is Accepted
You can place the following items in your recycle cart:
- Cardboard (flattened)
- Paper, mail, magazines, newspapers
- Plastic bottles & jugs
- Aluminum cans
- Tin/steel cans
- Glass bottles & jars (rinsed)
- Clean food containers (plastic or metal)
What Is NOT Accepted
Please do not place any of the following items into your recycling cart:
- Food waste or dirty containers
- Plastic bags or grocery bags
- Styrofoam
- Clothing or fabrics
- Electronics or batteries
- Chemicals, paint, or hazardous waste
- Garden hoses or extension cords
- Scrap metal
- Construction or demolition debris
Special Notes & Rules
All items must be clean and rinsed. Do not overfill the cart — the lid must close completely. Keep your trash and recycle carts at least 2–3 feet apart for safe pickup. Break down all cardboard boxes before placing them in the cart. If you are unsure whether something is recyclable, throw it in the trash to avoid contamination.
Pickup Frequency
Recycling is picked up every other week (biweekly).
Make sure your recycle toter is placed curbside by 7:00 AM on pickup day.
